About this Project

The CIT program of Revive Alaska Community Services (RACS) surfaced during the peak of the Covid-19 outbreak. The initial project was to gather resources amongst different community organization's to help disseminate the resources where needed. During that time, a need was discovered for essential items for children in transition within the Alaska School District after a collaboration with the former Assistant Commissioner of Education, Niki Tshibaka. In efforts to help support the children, the CIT program was created within the organization and a fundraiser was initiated to raise funds for $50 Fred Meyer gift cards for children in transition throughout the school district. Revive Alaska Community Services was able to successfully raise $1520 worth of gift cards and disseminated the gift cards to the school district to disburse to families and children in need.

Northern Skies has teamed up with Revive Alaska Community Services to help raise funds for the continuous needs of many children and families in the children in transition program of the Alaska School District. Some of the most frequent needs are household essential items, toiletries, and clothing to help with day to day grooming. Revive Alaska Community Services will use the funds raised to purchase more gift cards disseminate among the Alaska School District.

The outcome of this virtual art show fundraiser is to not only bring awareness and supply the needs of children in transition within school district, but to highlight and support some of the local creatives in the community. We hope to drive double impact by supporting artists and filling the need to help as many families as possible in the child in transition program.
